SUMMARY:

School Olympics are events marked by competition which, although it can be stimulating and challenging, can present disadvantages such as rivalry, stress and exclusion, thus becoming a potential source of conflict. It is common to observe values such as respect, empathy and solidarity being replaced by the idea of victory at any cost. However, the school, Physical Education and, in particular, the School Olympics, can be a stage for transforming this reality by promoting practices based on ethical and formative principles. Thus, this research aims to investigate the potential of the school Olympics as an educational space for the development of ethical and moral values among high school students, articulating these dimensions with the pedagogical practice of Physical Education. To this end, a qualitative action research study will be conducted, of an interventional nature, guided by a co-participatory approach, in which high school students and a teacher-researcher collectively construct pedagogical actions aimed at ethical and moral development in the context of school Physical Education Olympics. At the end of the research, it is expected that the promotion of critical reflections on the re-signification of victory, overcoming the logic of results at any cost, understanding ethics as a conscious choice and not just as compliance with rules, and conceiving competition as a space for coexistence and not for exclusionary rivalry, can favor formative processes in school Physical Education. The co-participatory approach can contribute to the formation of students more capable of reflecting on their decisions, assuming responsibility for their actions, and guiding their conduct by ethical principles in different social contexts.
