SUMMARY:

Among the problems that permeate society, the inclusion of people with disabilities is an essential theme for building an egalitarian society. It is known that inclusion is a right of children with disabilities and a duty of the State. The school is a space that serves both the socio-cultural problematization, as well as the process of instrumentalization of the individual so that he can interact with his physical-social environment. Physical Education, as a mandatory curricular component of basic education, integrated to the school's pedagogical proposal and has the duty to contribute to the discussion of school educational merit, therefore some approaches, methodologies and even contents can facilitate these discussions. Adapted sport is a content that equally involves students with and without disabilities in the same practice, so it can be a potential tool for a more inclusive education. From this reflection, this study aims to analyze the perception of teachers and students about the inclusion of children with disabilities in school. It will be held at the "Escola Básica Municipal da Tapera" (Florianópolis/SC), with the 5th grade students and their teachers. The researcher is also a Physical Education teacher in this grade. This is a qualitative and descriptive study, with data collection carried out through focus groups (before and after the event with adapted sports) and a field diary. These data will be treated using the content analysis technique and the analysis categories will be defined throughout the research. Each focus group will consist of 10 students from a 5th grade class of Elementary School I, totaling 3 groups (30 students). A focus group will also be held with 10 professors (regent and areas). To respond the objectives, participants will discuss their knowledge, experiences and opinions regarding disability and inclusion. The meetings will be held before and after an event that takes place at the school with the theme "adapted sports", during the commemorative "Week of Persons with Disabilities" (annual event part of the school calendar). We hope that this work can be an awareness tool about the inclusion of children with disabilities by verifying possible changes in attitudes among school actors, resulting in this discussion at school.
