GENERAL GYMNASTICS: A POSSIBLE PATH FOR SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Introduction: The new National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) established a minimum curriculum base for the discipline of Physical Education, electing Games and Games, Sports, Corporal Adventure Practices, Gymnastics and Dance as contents. Although relatively recent, this regulation normalized what was previously considered only as a content suggestion for the discipline. However, traditional sportsmanship is still very present in the educational reality and other practices such as Gymnastics are neglected even as part of the minimum curriculum content. Objectives: The general objective will be to discuss General Gymnastics in a socio-cultural perspective in School Physical Education with students in the Final Years of Elementary School. Methodology: The research is classified as qualitative in nature, characterizing itself as action research. The research will be carried out during Physical Education classes with 6th grade students at the Municipal School Nilton Balthazar, in the city of Rio das Ostras/RJ. The instruments used for data collection will be the application of questionnaires, descriptive participant observation, imaging and photographic resources and a field diary. The research will be carried out after being submitted and approved by the Research Ethics Committee, to which it will be directed in accordance with the Resolution on research with human beings CNS 466/12, considering respect for human dignity and the special protection due to participants in scientific research. involving human beings. Expected results: It is expected that the study will promote benefits to the students and that there will be an improvement in their perception about the modalities related to General Gymnastics. Added to this, to demonstrate, through scientific means, positive relations between the practice of Gymnastics and individual and collective socio-affective issues.
