SUMMARY:

Five-a-side football, also known as blind football, is
a collective parasport that provides people with visual
impairments the opportunity to practice football. It
emerges as a valuable tool for inclusive practice in the
school context when introduced as content in Physical
Education classes. The present research aims to analyze
the perceptions of 7th-grade students regarding inclusion,

based on their experience with the adapted sport of five-a-
side football. This qualitative study will be grounded in

participatory action research through the implementation
of a didactic unit on five-a-side football in school Physical
Education, considering the principles of inclusion and
diversity in the context of the final years of Elementary

Education.
The research will be conducted at Escola Municipal São
Januário, located in the municipality of Teresópolis, in the
mountainous region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The study will involve 28 7th-grade students aged between
12 and 13 years, including 16 female and 12 male students,
two of whom are undergoing diagnostic processes for
inclusion in special education services. The study will be
developed in seven stages: literature review; development
of the didactic sequence; presentation of the proposal to
the students; application of the lessons; conducting focus
groups with students; observation and data processing;
and evaluation of the didactic unit.
Data collection instruments include a field diary, audio
and video recordings, photographic records, and focus
groups organized with specific inclusion and exclusion
criteria. The lessons will take place in nine weekly
sessions, during regular Physical Education classes. For
data analysis, the technique of content analysis, of the
categorical type, will be used. It is expected that this study
will contribute to strengthening inclusive practices within
the school environment and support the development of
students who are more critical, reflective, and aware of the
importance of diversity and adapted sports.
