Soil moisture monitoring is fundamental in agricultural activities, in the development of warning systems for mass movements and numerous hydrological processes. The availability of real-time humidity monitoring systems that transmit data wirelessly is still lacking. This doctoral thesis presents a proposal for a humidity monitoring system that seeks to meet this demand. In the qualification exam, questions were presented related to the system's electronics, the fundamental aspects of measuring and monitoring humidity and the effects of different soil characteristics on the accuracy of humidity measurement by the capactive sensor. Finally, the aspects necessary for patenting the proposed system are also addressed.
