The movements of capital in space bring interpretations to understand the meaning of its production under capitalism, and deal with the circulation of capital and its consequences as a “relief” mechanism, which is called “spatial adjustment”, to the crises it causes. circulation crises and involves a mechanism for capturing “new” territories. The year 2008 is a period of crisis that shook the national economies and the world market as a whole, which promoted, due to the effect of the drop in profitability, a migration of financial capital to other sectors, attracting with it the expansion of the area plantation of commodities leading to the purchase and acquisition of plots of land. Since then, we have witnessed a global demand that turned to agriculture and, in turn, to its expansion areas in search of higher yields. In Brazil, we perceive this spatial change in capitalist activity with the expansion of the agricultural frontier in the cerrado, especially in the spatial production of MATOPIBA, aimed at meeting the needs of other regions and economies, which reveals the various mechanisms of the need for capital (re ) produce the space. This was possible with the creation of a dynamic land market in MATOPIBA with the presence of speculative financial capital, among other public-private articulation mechanisms in the territories, outlining a dynamic of socio-spatial availability based on territorial expansion through various acquisition strategies. of the lands.
