SUMMARY:

This research aims to analyze the conditions of access to rural retirement, as specially insured, by quilombolas, based on a case study in the quilombola community of Vila União, municipality of Salvaterra, Pará. In 2006, it was recognized by Palmares Foundation and, since then, it fights for its definitive titling with INCRA. By looking at the specificities that constitute the non-titled territory of Vila União and the quilombolas who live there, we aim to understand if the socioeconomic conditions of the specially insured and the infrastructure of their territory
act to conform the existence of barriers or difficulties for the translation of the bureaucratic requirements for access to rural retirement in the Amazon. The work involves bibliographic and documental research, as well as participant observation and data collection through questionnaires and interviews in the selected community.
