The Maraka'nà Village is the stage for an intense dispute between the State and indigenous peoples over land ownership. This work investigates issues related to autonomy in the context of the Village, understanding it as a process of reclaiming territory, identity, culture, and history that (re)shapes itself based on the ethnicity and ethnic self-identification of its occupants.
