This qualification text investigates the emergence of technology-based entrepreneurship in urban agriculture in Brazil, a field historically associated with subsistence practices and social initiatives. The work analyzes how entrepreneurial logics and private capital manifest in this context, potentiating certain visions of “urban agriculture”. The research combines literature review, quantitative and qualitative mapping of companies operating in this sector, which will subsequently be complemented with interviews. Preliminary results reveal an incipient sector, with nearly 60% of companies founded from 2020 onward, predominantly concentrated in
the Southeast region. The majority employs technologies such as vertical farming and LED lighting, focusing on the production of short-cycle vegetables. Content analysis of their digital platforms reveals a discourse that prioritizes terms such as "sustainable" and "pesticide free".
