RESUMO:

Based on reflections about the phenomenon of political forces that manage to be represented among others that are traditionally established, considering the municipal electoral scope, we propose to deepen a political and social perspective of the municipality of Goiás, in order to better outline the previous scenario that allowed new configurations in the local political field. We studied the municipality of Goiás, which lends its name to the state itself, founded in 1729, having been the capital of Goiás for more than two hundred years.We refer, then, to the past of a place that experienced the phenomenon of "coronelismo", saw the political power of families of surname of national projection emerge, went through a reconfiguration of political forces when it stopped being capital, watched the formation of a local pastoral with a bishop also nationally known (for his role in the political organization of rural workers) and the establishment of rural settlements in the region. Keeping this panorama in mind, we intend to establish reflections about the local wills that remodel strategies so that the traditional power renews an exchange of symbolic elements with other forces that appear in the municipality, guaranteeing its survival under new guises in society and in local politics.
