SUMMARY:

This research project has as main objective to analyze how the project of political action of the MST, during the Lula government, is related to the theoretical formulations of the sociologist José de Sousa Martins, specifically with regard to the registration of the agrarian question and the reform agrarian Therefore, the theoretical and ideological disputes surrounding the issues in vogue raise important questions about how to conduct the "struggle for the land" in Martins' view, which at one point moves from the MST proposals for political action as one of the main actors in the struggle by agrarian reform in Brazil. This research of qualitative character will have as main methodological procedures the bibliographic and documentary research, followed by content analysis.
