SUMMARY:

The present work analyzes the influence exerted by the profile of the Rural Extension technicians in the execution of the rural technical assistance policy. More precisely, it seeks to understand how the academic-professional training of rural extension technicians, their political-ideological position, among other aspects that shape their profile, are decisive factors in implementing the rural technical assistance policy. It is intended, therefore, to better understand the reality of the work of these professionals. The profile of these professionals and the reality of their work were examined through semi-structured interviews. It is also expected that the analysis of the profile of these professionals and their concrete performance can contribute to a more realistic evaluation of the rural technical assistance policy
