SUMMARY:

Reproductive biotechnologies have been gaining more and more space among dairy farmers and technicians, by allowing the optimization of labor by concentrating insemination work, increasing the insemination rate immediately after the voluntary waiting period (VWP) and the elimination of estrus observation, thus providing gains in dairy productivity. Currently, several works are being developed in the search for hormonal protocols that provide better results in pregnancy rate for dairy cows. In this context, regardless of the estrous cycle synchronization protocol to be used, climatic conditions can impact the pregnancy rate due to high temperatures and humidity. Therefore, the aim of this study will be to investigate the effect of two seasons of the year on the pregnancy rate of cows submitted to different reproductive biotechnologies. Therefore, an observational study will be carried out using data from commercial dairy farms located in the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, both in the Vale do Paraíba region. The collection of environmental temperature and humidity data will be carried out by the Weather Spark base, from the Cedar Lake Ventures company based in Minneapolis, USA and by the INMET base – National Institute of Meteorology. Climatic conditions will be evaluated in two distinct periods of reproductive management, the first from January to March, period of higher environmental temperature and relative air humidity, and the second from June to August, a period characterized by lower environmental temperature and humidity. Reproductive data referring to conventional artificial insemination will be used, after observation of estrus (AI), Fixed-Time Artificial Insemination (FTAI) and Fixed-Time Embryo Transfer (FTET), comparing pregnancy rates between the respective times of the year. The chi-square test will be used to compare conception and pregnancy loss rates and Pearson's correlation coefficient will be used to evaluate the following parameters: genetic group, parity, mating system (AI, FTAI and FTET).
