SUMMARY:

The research intends to analyze the possible existing relations between history and memory, based on testimonies of political prisoners, from the photo, when on hunger strike, in the Frei Caneca prison in Rio de Janeiro, between July and August of 1979 . This analysis focuses mainly on the emergence of a way of acting and thinking about the prison experience among political prisoners. The development of a possible action within the imposed limits, in prison, under the restrictions of freedoms. For, for 33 days, these prisoners instrumentalized their own bodies for political action, even under the restrictions imposed by prison, during the Civil Military Dictatorship.
