This research aims to analyze how journalist Gitta Sereny thinks about Nazi criminals in her writings. To make this possible, two books by the author are used, one about the Nazi Franz Stangl, released in 1974 and the other about the Nazi Albert Speer, released in 1995. The research observes, analyzes and understands how the author reflects on the criminals involved in the Holocaust, with whom she had direct contact, and how the author constructs a specific way of thinking about these individuals. With this analysis, we were able to observe mainly the author's attempt to represent her objects as ordinary human beings, and to distance them from the monstrous stigma placed on participants in genocide crimes. Thus, our observation of the work offers us an overview of the representation of these individuals and shows us the author's attempt to humanize her interviewees.
