From the offices to the barracks: the consolidation of business in Brazilian football during the redemocratization (1978-1987)

The present work aims to analyze the process of management of Brazilian football from the protagonism of the Brazilian Football Confederation. Thus, we seek to indicate that the transition of Brazilian football to a business model, under the signs of modernity, is directly associated with the political and economic process established during the at the same time that it relates the discourses on tradition and modernity. Finally, when we analyze the formation of the Club dos Treze and the Copa União, we verify the consolidation of the entrepreneurial revolution of the Brazilian sport.
