SUMMARY:

This research proposal aims to investigate the rapprochement of the São Paulo-based Black Front with conservatism. To this end, we will analyze the life trajectories of some of its main leaders: Arlindo Veiga dos Santos and Isaltino Veiga dos Santos. These two figures were chosen because they helped found the institution, participated as main leaders for almost all of its existence, and due to their affinity with extremist ideologies. The research's time frame will be from 1931-1945, precisely to encompass the period of the institution's existence and the end of the Estado Novo (historical context that contributed to the closure of the FNB).
