SUMMARY:

This dissertation analyzes the discourses produced by Escola Sem Partido and by Projeto
Mecenas, linked to Brasil Paralelo, seeking to understand how such initiatives construct
narratives about history teaching in contemporary Brazil. Inserted within the field of History
of the Present Time, the research is based on the understanding that history teaching
constitutes a space of discursive and political disputes, especially in a context marked by the
expansion of digital media and by the immeasurable circulation of historical content outside
the academic environment. The work uses as its main methodology Textually Oriented
Critical Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 2001), understood as a perspective capable of
examining the relationships between language, ideology, and power present in the analyzed
discourses. From this approach, the discursive strategies mobilized by the researched objects
in the construction of certain representations about teachers, historiographical production,
school, political neutrality, and historical knowledge are investigated. The research seeks to
identify how these discourses articulate themselves with revisionist and negationist
perspectives, producing criticisms of history teaching and history teachers, and questioning
the legitimacy of academic historiographical work. Thus, the dissertation intends to contribute
to reflections on history teaching, circulation of historical discourses, and narrative disputes in
the present time, highlighting the role of digital media in the dissemination and strengthening
of these discourses.
