RESUMO:

In view of the women's presence fazendeiras of coffee in the Customs of Our Lady of the Conceição of the Banana plantation of Itaguaí (current Seropédica) in the middle of the century XIX, the present work takes thematic the participation of the women of possessions in the context of the coffee production in the zone itaguaiense of eight hundred. For that, we select a fazendeira of coffee D. Gertrudes Maria da Conceição to check the limits and means of social and economical action of a woman fazendeira in the region, which among his actions, was associated with his couples in the defense and maintenance of his productive unity. The inquiry is registered in the field investigativo of the history of the women predicting an approach of the propositions metodológicas of the micro-history.
