This dissertation project presented for the qualification exam is part of
of an ongoing research that aims to build a dialogue with the
thoughts of Paulo Freire and Fayga Ostrower, starting from their concepts of
awareness and sensitivity, respectively. The ongoing research
is of a bibliographic nature and intends to be supported by the evidential paradigm of Carlo
Ginzburg (2012) and dialogue as a theoretical-methodological category of thought
Freireano understand a liberating, sensitive and democratic conception of education.
Thus, in this qualification text I present a first chapter dedicated to
approach dialogues between the authors, which has enabled me to understand that thinking about
awareness and sensitivity demand the understanding of other approaches
possible in the fields of education and art, through the authors studied. In this chapter
Discussions built from the following themes are presented: perspective and
expression; feeling and commitment; change and creation; and ethical commitment,
sensitivity and the human being as a being with spatio-temporal roots.
