SUMMARY:

Geometric transformations constitute a field rich in connections that allow contextualization with everyday, artistic and cultural activities and interactions with other areas of knowledge: Art, Architecture, Biology, Physics, Chemistry. They can be developed in various segments of Basic Education, helping to improve observation, promote geometric visualization and stimulate critical analysis in students. The mapping carried out showed that there are many studies directed to isometries (translation, symmetries, rotation) and few involving the transformation of proportionality - the homothety. The development of a set of activities that provided the geometric visualization and understanding of the congruence between figures (with the isometries) to the proportionality between dimensions and the similarity between figures (with the homotheties) was our proposal. In this context, this thesis aims to answer the following question: how do geometric transformations mediated by hybrid languages and dynamic geometry software contribute to the visualization of congruence similar to geometric figures? The theoretical contribution was limited to hybrid languages, visualization, mediation and pedagogical intervention. The intervention research took place throughout 2020/2021, during the social distancing imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, with 7th grade students (12-13 years old) from the CAP-UERJ elementary school, where the researcher is a regent teacher . During remote teaching, synchronous meetings were held through the webconferencing environment of the Brazilian Network for Education and Research - RNP and asynchronous tasks were made available in the VLE, multimedia resources and dynamic geometry programs (GeoGebra) were made available in the virtual learning environment of the CAP – the AVACAp. The focus of the analysis was directed to the mediation of hybrid and multimedia resources and to interaction as a learning enhancer. The proposition proved to be fruitful with regard to students' understanding of congruence to proportionality and similarity of geometric figures. The research highlights the importance of exploring hybrid languages associated with dynamic resources, as well as enhancing interaction with students in virtual learning environments. The thesis defended is that the use of varied resources in a multimedia environment, with activities that value hybrid languages, promotes the understanding of properties and characteristics of geometric transformations.
