SUMMARY:

The Centro de Inovação para a Educação Brasileira (CIEB) is an organization created in 2015 by a group of institutes and business foundations, with the main agenda being the promotion of innovation, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in public basic education. The Center quickly developed partnerships with state education departments, having achieved the status of technical partner of the Ministério da Educação (MEC) through the Programa Inovação Educação Conectada(PIEC). The question raised by this research is: what is at stake when foundations and private institutes invest in the creation of an innovation center with Brazilian education in focus? Our hypothesis is that the creation of the CIEB point to a process characterized by the expansion of the market logic in education and education as a market. To answer the question, we list as a general objective to understand the form and content of the CIEB's intervention for public education within the strict state. As specific objectives we list: i) analyze the slogan of innovation in education, identifying which ethical-political project it imposes on human formation; ii) produce a survey of guidelines aimed at public basic education in the technical notes and study notebooks published by the organization; iii) identify and analyze the incorporation of CIEB tools and other propositions into Brazilian public policies. The theoretical framework of the research, of a qualitative and documentary nature, is based on historical-dialectical materialism and the understanding of the Integral State as a theoretical and methodological tool. So, the itinerary of this research begins its research efforts by seeking in civil society the conflicts and consensuses, always provisional, drawn up and negotiated by agents of the ruling class who aim to recalibrate the educational training of children, young people and adults in the country. The educational policies that emerge from the agencies of political society (MEC and state and municipal education departments, for example) will be understood as syntheses of these movements carried out within the Integral State in Brazil. Data were compiled from official CIEB documents, its references, supporting agencies and partners. The data was crossed with elements that stood out in the documents of the main reforms from the 2016-2022 period, identifying the assumptions that unify bourgeois sectors. It is possible to observe at this point in the research that the aforementioned articulation aims to reformulate the capital's agenda for education, with the aim of emulating the profile of a worker psychophysically conformed to the recent reconfigurations of the world of work.
