Afro-Referenced Philosophies in Early Childhood Education: A Formative Reflection on Cosmos-Feeling
Afro-referenced Philosophies; Childhoods; Teacher Training.
The work aims to briefly reflect on the history of Early Childhood Education in Brazil and in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, with a focus on the continuing education of teachers in the municipal school system. The research seeks to analyze the training of Early Childhood Education teachers from the 8th Regional Coordination of Rio de Janeiro and focuses on epistemicide as a mechanism present in formative processes, perpetuating a colonialist view of education. Decoloniality will also be addressed as a central concept, aiming to break with the naturalization and universalization of philosophy in the training of Early Childhood Education teachers.
In this sense, the research will include a formative description of an extension course based on an Afro-referenced philosophy and "cosmossentir" (a cosmic-feeling/sensing). Finally, it intends to present the experiences lived by the teachers and how this formative journey contributed to transforming and deconstructing perceptions about Afro-Brazilian and Amerindian communities, as well as about childhoods and rituals.
