FOR A LATIN AMERICAN DIALOGUE: SOCIAL SERVICE AND EDUCATION IN BRAZIL AND ARGENTINA.
Social Service. Education. Comparative History. Brazil and Argentina.
The present research points out the need to understand how the insertion of the social worker in the educational field of Brazil and Argentina actually took place. According to Lovisolo (2000), Latin American countries, especially Brazil, dedicate little to the study and understanding of the reality of their neighbors, and thus fail to cultivate and value similar traits that form the identity of very close countries. Given the above, it is possible to understand that Social Service and its insertion in Education is a field in development and with few scientific studies carried out, especially regarding the comparison between the reality of Brazil and Argentina, which can be a field of study potential. As Brazil and Argentina are member countries of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), it is possible to understand that it is of the utmost importance to reflect on the concept of integration among them, especially with regard to macroeconomic and sectoral policies. According to Lovisolo (2000, p. 7), "we lack a similar collective work, more so when economic integration points strongly in the present, creating ever more intense conditions for practices of interaction and integration." The possibility of developing such research is therefore justified by the need to broaden dialogue and reflection on the integration of neighboring countries in the educational field and the insertion of the social worker in this field, in particular. In this way, we seek the diversity and unity of the past and present of Social Service to build new professional practices.
