RESUMO:

The present research has as a locus of investigation, the CCAIC - Nursery and Child Care Center Caxiense, a local policy project in intersectoral and interdisciplinary care, to children from one to five years of age, in a situation of nutritional vulnerability in Duque de Caxias, municipality of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The project, established by a social mobilization for the fight against hunger and maternal and child malnutrition, has as an articulator Dom Mauro Morelli, bishop of the dioceses of Duque de Caxias and São João de Meriti, has an important role in social mobilization by combating malnutrition in the municipality. It was originally thought of as passing houses for the nutritional recovery of children and social support to families, and it was later transformed into crèches for the care of children who are followed up to five years and eleven months and are referred to Elementary School in the schools of the Municipal Education Network . The CCAIC has a path of constitution of its pedagogical proposal, in the search for overcoming an assistencialista vision and compensatory and for an educative practice that prioritize the integral development of the child, in the physical, social, psychological and cultural aspects, without disregarding the necessary care for its nutritional recovery. The research aims to analyze the role of CCAIC in reducing social inequalities and their impact as educational policy and public policy on food security.
