The intention of this research is to study the real context of the initial training of students in the Licentiate course in Physical Education of a public university of Rio de Janeiro in an official situation of Supervised Curricular Internship (ECS). The ECS activity is an important component of initial training, being a step that provides future teachers with an articulating praxis of academic knowledge with real demands of the work context, requiring the need for a horizontal relationship between universities, institutions performing the internship , Faculty Advisor (PO) of the universities and Professor Supervisor (PS) of the basic school. The professionalization of teaching in the North American countries (the United States and Canada) encompasses the primacy of teacher training, which is a responsibility not only for universities but for all those involved in the teaching profession, from experienced teachers, school authorities, Basic Education Institutions (IEB) and actors involved in teaching. The objective of the study is to investigate how the process of reception and monitoring of trainees and their repercussions with regard to teaching learning is triggered. The study is empirical and qualitative with descriptive procedures and interpretative approach. Interpretive because its purpose is to promote the understanding of the phenomena in a contextual way, being that the researcher is part of the research process, seeking to understand the phenomena that permeate the research, as well as beliefs, values and preferences. The sample will be non-probabilistic, intentional, adopting inclusion and exclusion criteria. Interviews and the field diary will be used as an instrument for collecting and recording data throughout the field period. The analysis of data will be carried out through content analysis that will be organized in two dimensions of analysis: Process of reception and follow-up of Trainees; and Apprenticeship of trainees).
