WOMEN AND SOCIOLOGY IN PRISON: DILEMMAS AND SINGULARITIES
Education in Prison- Youth and Adult Education - Sociology
This research is the result of my concerns about the processes that involve the Education of Young People and Adults (EJA) in the areas of restriction and deprivation of liberty, and more specifically, the schooling processes in the female prison units. In order to do so, I intend to explore the daily pedagogical practices of the professors and teachers of Sociology in the state colleges inserted in the female prison units Talavera Bruce (State College Roberto Burle Marx), Nelson Hungria (State Collegio 1º Lieutenant of PM Hailton do Santos) and Joaquim Ferreira de Souza (Maria Montessori State College) located in the Gericinó Complex in Bangu in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In this sense, in this research I try to understand the particularities that sociology teachers find in the penal units and how these particularities are faced for them. I also try to understand to what extent and how the themes proposed by the curriculum matrix and by the didactic material adopted by the State of Rio de Janeiro are addressed. I also intend to investigate how the practice of these teachers is crossed by the place that he occupies in society, by his life trajectory and by his conception of the world.
