RESUMO:
There are a set of epistemologies being gestated to the south, there are significant explanatory criteria to account for processes experienced by subjects subalternized by capitalist modernity. Unraveling the world from other narratives, from other epistemologies, recognizing the power of those that constitute the exteriority of the modern world system beyond the borders of Europe is possible. This movement has been proposed by authors of the group “Modernity / Coloniality” that constitute a new perspective of Latin America and the world in the Social Sciences Escobar (2003). According to him, the group wants to intervene in the discourse of Social Sciences to configure another space for the production of knowledge through the proposition of an “other paradigm” that stands against the great modernist narratives. Historically, the context of history teaching in Brazil is based on the commitment to consolidate the heritage of European modernity in the tropics, being very recent the movements critical to modernity from the epistemological turn proposed by the decolonials. The general objective is to inventory the set of theses and dissertations available in the Capes catalog, in the field of education, where the theoretical perspective of M / C has been used; Such activity can be understood as “state of the art” or “state of knowledge” Ferreira (2002).

 

The proposed timeframe is the period from 1995 to 2016. Because it is a qualitative research and uses an exploratory methodology in data mapping, quantitative procedures will be considered so that we can compose the database related to the focus. this research, namely: to quantify the number of theses and dissertations developed in the previously established time interval (1995 to 2016); understand how the temporal distribution of this production occurred; enumerate the themes or areas in the field of education where the theoretical perspective of M / C was used; map the distribution of research according to geographic distribution by region and federation unit in order to understand factors that lead to the concentration or not of academic debates from the contributions of the M / C group; list which teachers acted as advisors in the listed works; reflect on the institutional role that universities can assume in the face of the challenge of proposing other knowledge. For the treatment of the data of this qualitative research, we will use the references of the content analysis from the contributions of Bardin (1979). This research is structured in four chapters. The first seeks to describe the trajectory of the researcher from the undergraduate degree in history to the doctorate to present the paths taken in the plan of her personal and academic formation that enabled the recognition of the modus operandi of coloniality as well as the possibilities of action and thinking from the breaches. that a border epistemology (Mignolo, 2017) can offer. The second chapter focuses on historicizing the paths that Brazilian historiography has traveled, to understand how much of the Eurocentric tradition was present in the formation of the institutional frameworks for the production of academic and even scholarly knowledge in our country, especially since the 19th century. In the third chapter present the steps taken during the survey activity in theses and dissertations, as well as the quantification, classification and contextualization of the productions found. In the fourth chapter we will analyze the contents of the dissertations and theses found that met the proposed requirements for this research.
