SUMMARY:

The work focuses on the conflict between Grupo Globo and the government of Leonel Brizolla (Rio de Janeiro, 1983-1986). The theoretical foundation of the work is Bourdieu's reflexive sociology. Elements of Marxist analysis are also used, especially the concept of hegemony formulated by Antonio Gramsci. The work was developed from an analysis of the existing literature on the subject and on the Special Program for Popular Education and the creation of the Centro Integrados de Educação Popular , data collection in the archives of the National Library and the Archives of O Globo. Elements related to the initial hypotheses of the work are presented. The research stages carried out and the next ones are also presented.
