School for what? Conceptions and meanings of low-income high school
Education; School; Youth
We take as a starting point to carry out this research the question what is the meaning of school? However, we understand that the question is incomplete if we do not ask what the meaning of school is for them. In this sense, we propose to listen to those who were in school, especially young people from lower classes who attended high school and completed it in 2018 in the public network of the state of Rio de Janeiro of Baixada Fluminense. Our aim is to capture the school senses for this group. We took as parameters to analyze the training offered, the National Curriculum Guidelines for High School 2012, by Resolution CNE/CEB nº 02/2012 and the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education nº 9.394/96, which proposes training for categories Social Practice and for the World of Work. The methodology used is known as Bola de Neve, as it is an important ally to find 14 young graduates from the municipalities of Mesquita and Nilópolis. The techniques for data collection will be through a questionnaire and interviews. We believe that, from these meetings, it is possible to have an overview of the school's contributions to training regarding Social Practice and Work.
