SUMMARY:

This dissertation presents a didactic sequence (Dolz; Noverraz; Schneuwly, 2004) and a pedagogical notebook containing activities on the genre of posters and the thematic "Orange May" - a month for raising awareness about combating the sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents. It is a propositive research, whose products are adapted, as they are originally intended for fifth-grade elementary school students at a municipal school located in Nova Iguaçu/RJ, and also teachers in the same educational network. In general terms, it is intended to contribute to the work with textual/discursive genres in the early years of Basic Education (Fávero; Andrade; Aquino, 2000; Marcuschi, 2010; Bakthin, 2003; Leal, 2012, among others listed in the references). More specifically, the objectives are: i) to present the characteristics and functionalities of the poster; ii) to raise awareness among students about the "Orange May" theme, gathering texts of different genres about it; and iii) to enhance their communicative competence, developing certain skills related to the spoken and written modalities of the Portuguese Language. Thus, the purpose is to focus on the contextualized learning of oral and literacy practices through a theme that, since the year 2022, gains the visibility of a federal law.
