SUMMARY:

The present research outlines, through an educational circuit, the pedagogical steps surrounding the multiple mechanisms involved in the construction of clause times, whether in simple sentences or in complex sentences, with a 1st high school group, from a CIEP in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, RJ. It is understood that the time dimension is one of the central aspects that cross the projections that individuals make of their life path and of the reality itself surrounding them; pervading not only the domains of syntax, but others, as the ones of discourse and philosophy. Thus, based on a functionalist vision of speech and language, which prioritizes the function over the form by allying use, meaning and social, the conduction of the circuit will permit the teacher to explore the didactic sequence, with a selected group of students, of different text genres, amongst which stands out the multimodal genre meme. It is evidenced, with the adoption and implementation of the circuit, that the time clause subordination constitutes a highly powerful element in the text elaboration. The methodology applied in the study followed the guidelines of the Collaborative Approach, a method that places the student at the core of learning, and the teacher as mediator of such a process. In addition to the approaches of the Brazilian grammatical tradition of Cintra & Cintra (2012), Lima (2012) and Bechara (2024), also substantiate the scientific conduction of the research, among others, the contributions of Neves (1999, 2006, 2023), Bagno (2006), Marcuschi (2008), and Koch & Elias (2006, 2009). The research data will be collected through the students´ textual production and through the meme confection at the end of the circuit. It is expected that, at the end of the process, the learners associate the teaching of the time expressions, in its multiple facets, with their speaking and writings productions, enhancing, therefore, their linguistic competence development.
