Beliefs and writing: a pedagogical proposal of introduction to the argumentative writing from the learner’s metacognitive repositioning.
Beliefs, metatextual awareness, metalinguistic development, argumentative logical organization.
This r esearch’s general goal is to investigate pedagogic strategies to replace
the native language learning subject as responsible for its own development as
a writer. For this purpose, we adopt a metatextual development perspective in
a process that understands teaching and learning as situated considering the
learner’s context and experiences. The specific goals are: (1) investigating and
debating the learners’ beliefs about what represents knowing how to write
well in its native language and (2) proposing a didactic unit that provides the
awareness about the basic linguistic-discursive characteristics of
argumentative logical organization. With those aims, a qualitative research is
adopted once we focus on understanding the learners’ behavior in relation to
language and, from this understanding, we propose a didactic unit that
stimulates the development of the learner’s metatextual awareness by
incorporating dialogical discussions to the pedagogical dynamic.
