READING UNDERSTANDING IN THE LITERACY PROCESS: ANALYSIS AND METACOGNITIVIST PROPOSAL FOR TEACHING READING IN EARLY YEARS
Literacy, reading comprehension, levels of thinking.
This research has as general objective to investigate the teaching of the student’s reading practice as a cognitive in the literacy phase. Specific objectives are assumed: (1) to analyze how reading comprehension is addressed in the curriculum for reading in the literacy cycle in the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro; (2) to propose pedagogical guidelines for teaching reading comprehension in a metacognitive perspective. Therefore, this is a qualitative research, which seeks to understand and interpret documents and processes related to the reading cognition of students in the literacy phase. In the first stage of the work, we adopted as a methodology the qualitative analysis of the official documents of the prescribed skills that are related to the development of reading comprehension. In the second stage, we promotes the development of all levels of thinking in the reading process, in order to achieve reading comprehension in a more comprehensive way in the literacy phase.
