SUMMARY:

The present academic work proposes to create a retextualization activities pedagogical notebook of the comic strip genre, specifically Armandinho´s, by Alexandre Beck, for the short story genre, focusing in expanding the student's literacy. The comic strip choice as a motivator for approaching to new genre was, mainly, due to the ludic mode from multimodal characteristics, which rouse interest the target audience project, the 7th year of Elementary School students, in addition the genre approach themes in which students identify with and, sometimes, it dialogues with their social reality. Starting from the understanding of the written and strip imagery, it intends to lead the student to produce a (…) short story genre, (…) expanding their literacy. Believe, therefore, in the importance of valuing the textual genres usage in language teaching, using a genre with the comic strip characteristics (…) to favor the understanding and production of the narrative structure in the short story formatting. The general objective is to propose a (…) retextualization from a comic strip to the short story genre, main focusing on the expansion of students' literacy. Regarding to specific objectives, it is proposed to introduce the short story genre characteristics; to equip the student indeed to retextualize the comic strips worked in the classroom; to lead the student to perceive differences and similarities between the two genres (…) and understand the writing process (…) through retextualization. This research is based on official education documents of the National Curricular Parameters – PCN and Brazil (1998) and National Common Curricular Base – BNCC Brazil (2017), beyond authors such as Bakhtin (2003), Marcuschi (2005) (2009), Marcuschi; Xavier (2010), Koch; Elias (2013) and Matêncio (2002). The selected Portuguese language descriptors to compose the research are D9 – identify the text purpose from different genres – and D15 – recognize different ways of treating information in the comparison.
