SUMMARY:

This research aims to set up a didactic circuit for the study and usage of the periphrasis go + infinitive to express future time, as used by sixth-grading Elementary school students.  This study departed from the analysis of these expressions in the Alpha Collection (2018), adopted for use in Baltazar Lisboa Municipal School, located in the West Zone of the City of Rio de Janeiro, where the circuit will take place. In this analysis, a traditional view of verb teaching was identified, in which there is no mention of the use of periphrases as expressions of futurity, although this form is widely used, even in contexts of more monitoring, as evidenced by studies (GIBBON, 2014). In a second moment, texts of the same students who will participate in the didactic activities presented here were analyzed. The purpose of this analysis was to verify how the students use the expressions of the future in order to obtain a knowledge, even partial, of their real linguistic behavior. Several occurrences of such periphrases were recorded, demonstrating the distance between what the books analyzed present and the linguistic uses of the students, which justifies the initiative to create a differentiated didactic proposal for the theme. As a result, the main objective of this study is to contribute to the linguistic, textual and social awareness of the use of the periphrastic future by the mentioned students. In addition to this objective, two specific objectives were drawn:

1) Create a circuit of activities that merges the interface between use and study of verbal forms that indicate posteriority.

2) Promote possibilities of use of these forms that start from the student's spontaneous orality for more monitored writing and speaking.

For the scope of such actions, the research, in relation to the knowledge of these periphrases, will take as theoretical contribution (MACHADO VIEIRA 2004) and (GIBBON, 2014), as well as texts on grammaticalization. With regard to the research methodology, the basis will be action-research (THIOLLENT,1988). Regarding the methodology of the circuit, we will take as theoretical framework the assumptions of the Collaborative Learning Approach (BEHERNS, 2004) and the Active Methodology (MORAN, 2015).
