SUMMARY:

This present work aimed to offer a contribution to the application of what is advocated by Law 10.639/03, through the development of a pedagogical game, named "Jogo dos Nkisis" (The Game of the Nkisis.) The reflections upon which this work rests originated from concerns as a Basic Education teacher, working in the Elementary School system of the municipal public network of Rio de Janeiro. However, they are also rooted in the experiential knowledge as a Candomblé practitioner and relate to the frequent tensions and confrontations caused by religious intolerance against Afro-diasporic religions, such as Candomblé. These manifestations have embodied themselves in Brazilian society, anchored in the somber slave-holding past, notably from the Bantu diaspora towards Brazil, and have been gaining strength in recent years. We identify the school environment as a privileged stage where these confrontations occur and can be combated, through the reformulation of curricula and the development of new practices and didactic materials that, using new digital technologies, pave the way for the construction of a critical and anti-racist education.
