HISTORY DOESN'T HAVE TO BE BORING: RETHINKING TEACHING PRACTICE
AND THE CURRICULUM FOR THE RELEVANCE OF HISTORY TEACHING

Having as its theme the teaching of History, the object of this work is the way students see this discipline and the challenges that the teacher faces to carry out teaching-learning. Thus, this work intends to understand the position of the students in relation to the teaching of History, their motivations and the relationship established with teaching practices, considering several aspects that cross them, proposing a way that contributes to the construction of significant learning experiences. For this purpose, the opinion of students from the 1st year of public high school classes in the city of Nilópolis - RJ will be collected, with a focus on teaching practices and on the History curriculum, leading to the analysis of both. And, from the results of this, a path to the meaning of teaching will be proposed, through the systematization of suggestions for the elaboration of classes that favor student participation, pedagogical practices and significant curricular approaches.
