RESUMO:

Social representations are ubiquitous phenomena in our lives. They familiarize us with the world by mediating our relationships and the conceptual construction of our reality. In the field of education, social representations are important elements in the praxis of teaching and learning, and should be carefully observed by the teacher in the adequacy of the formal content in their teaching planning. The struggles form an important block of content within the school physical education, having prominence as element of the corporal culture of the movement. Despite this, this content is commonly neglected by teachers in the area, depriving students of this relevant content. In this way, the present study aims to identify the social representations that physical education students, from the second elementary school segment, from the public network of the city of Angra dos Reis - RJ, have about the struggles. The sample will be collected in the eighth and ninth grade classes in five (5) schools out of a total of forty six (46) that attend this school band in the urban area of Angra dos Reis. We expect to reach approximately 10% of the eighth and ninth grade students, with approximately 226 individuals of both sexes.
