SUMMARY:

Enslavement is pointed out by several authors as one of the main traumas of Brazilian culture. Its affective charge, associated with memories, ideas, images and behaviors related could constitute na active cultural complex of its own, present in labor relations. In this way, this research proposes to investigate the possible existence of a cultural complex resulting from enslavement, manifest in contemporary employment relationships, despite the current legal protection. Therefore, the method used in this research will be in accordance with the theorical and practical epistemological field of Carl Gustav Jung's psychology, that is, the constructive-synthetic and the symbolic-archetypal, considering bibliographic reviews and statistical data, limited, above all, to the first twenty of the 21st century, focusing on the population of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
