PROFESSIOGRAPHIC PROFILE AND WELL-BEING OF POLICE OFFICERS OF THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS BATTALION OF CEARÁ
Training; Staff selection: Professionalography; BOPE
This study aims to develop a professional profile for military police officers from the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE) of Ceará, using psychological assessment tools. Our aim is to develop a study that allows us to both develop the professional profile and investigate the relationship that such a profile presents with well-being. We therefore propose to construct the professional profile of BOPE police officers and to verify whether those who present themselves close to the profile have higher indexes in the variables indicating well-being. From the 1960s onwards, interest in personal growth and well-being gained prominence in the scientific literature, resulting in indicators aimed at monitoring the social environment and supporting public policies. The concept of subjective well-being, which emerged in the late 1950s, marked the beginning of studies on well-being as an indicator of quality of life. Since then, developments in the field have resulted in concepts of psychological well-being (BEP), social well-being (BESoc) and well-being at work (BET), which represent more recent and comprehensive approaches to the topic. The Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE) is a specialized unit whose activities cover highly complex and risky situations. Its activities are multiple and vary from one state to another, but generally include combating organized crime, operations against drug trafficking, hostage rescue, among other more complex occurrences or requiring specialized action. Thus, the group's work demands high physical, technical and emotional preparation, which makes it capable of dealing with extreme situations. the Professional Profile, also known as Professionography or Scientific Study of Position. This profile combines job descriptions with an analysis of the skills, competencies and attitudes necessary for effective performance, contributing to the selection, development and improvement of professionals. Thus, it benefits both employees and the organization.
