RESUMO:

This is a descriptive study that aims to verify the presence of racism, based on the historical trauma caused by black enslavement, in the History of Brazil. To describe the phenomenon of racism the following materials will be analyzed: (a) statistical data of the portals IBGE, FGV, IPEA and SUS to verify social inequalities between whites and blacks in Brazil; (b) the work of Lima Barreto, Clara dos Anjos, to articulate the post-abolition period with the paradoxical place of the Negro, in the current Brazilian society, which conceals racism and (c) to obtain an oral history of two families: and another white, on the possibility of rescuing the ancestry of both, in the city of Rio de Janeiro-RJ. The Complex Psychology, developed by the psychiatrist and Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961), will be the guiding thread of the objective of this research. The question: "Can the wound of Brazil's slave-owning past be a shadow that keeps the black population locked in?"
