RESUMO:

The female sexuality is a multidimensional concept, which unfolds in subjective, behavioral, relational, cultural and ethical aspects. In the context of sexuality, sexual assertiveness is the ability to communicate sexual preferences, needs and opinions, as well as initiate, refuse and negotiate sexual activities. The quality of sex life is the subjective evaluation of experiences in the sexual sphere, intertwined with physical and mental health issues, as well as affective bonding. The Sexual Assertiveness Scale (SAS) for Women and the Sexual Quality of Life for Females (SQoL-F) questionnaire are internationally valid and widely used instruments, but without adaptation to the Portuguese language. The present project aims at the translation and validation of the instruments in a sample of Brazilian women, providing subsidies for the construction of research on female sexuality in the country.
