SUMMARY:

The present work aims to articulate and describe the liquid modernity presented by the Polish sociologist and philosopher Zygmunt Bauman (1925-2017), as a theoretical and practical epistemological field of the complex psychology, which was elaborated and developed by Swiss psychiatrist and psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961). As of the mythological use regarding god Krono’s family and deity Hermes, dialoguing with goddess Hestia, Krono’s daughter, in order to illustrate this dissertation context, since mythology is one of the areas of knowledge used by Carl Gustav Jung to elaborate the theoretical and practical field of his psychological work. Thus, the intertwining of this mythological dimension as a resource will serve to comprehend and describe the constitution of the liquid modernity and suggest how it can favour the incidence of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). On this context, according to timeless and unbounded dimension of the unconscious, due to ontological dimension of mythology, GAD’s presence will be observed on female youth from the city Maricá, within the age range between 20 and 30 years old – at Maricá, located on Rio de Janeiro’s cost, Brazil – at the present time, the first quarter of XXI century.
