SUMMARY:

This paper aims to research children and teenager’s institutional sheltering in the city of Seropedica, in Rio de Janeiro, analyzing the causes for the sheltering and mainly how the technical staff (psychologists, social workers etc.) acted in search of family reintegration. The methodology is going to be qualitative, exploratory and documentary. The participants are going to be the technical staff of the institutional sheltering Casa Lar, situated in Vera Cruz district, which receives children and teenagers between 0 and 17 years old. As to the procedure, the case reports will be analyzed, where we will analyze the activity of the technical staff on the subject of family reintegration. For that, the institution will be requested for a documentary permission through a letter of consent from the institution and, if necessary, an authorization through a permit from the Juvenile Court Judge of the city. The research instrument is going to be a semi-structured interview that will be applied individually, being given free and consented terms of clarification according to the regulation of the Research with Human Beings Ethics Committee, respecting human dignity and safety to the participants as well as the data and information obtained by the research. The answers found will be categorized a posteriori, in simple and percentual frequencies, allowing an organization according to the content analysis model of Bardin.
