SUMMARY:

The social representations seek to analyze the consensual knowledge of groups through the relationship between subject and object, seeking to understand the process of building their beliefs and values in the sociological approach. Judo is a differentiated fight from the others for its Japanese traditions and its moral and philosophical principles. This work sought to investigate through the free word evocation method of the inductive term “judo”, the possible structure of the SR of this modality in its practitioners. It also sought to analyze possible differences in the RS of judo between the sexes. The results of the study indicate that for its practitioners, the values of discipline and respect are intrinsically linked to this practice. In this way, I end the study by highlighting the importance of research on the subject of RS in judo, the possibility of deepening and new work with different groups, in order to enrich the science of an Olympic sport, which is the biggest medalist in the country, which has more than 20 million practitioners worldwide.
