SUMMARY:

The present work aims to investigate the risk behaviors for the development of Eating Disorders in young people from Sao Tome and Principe. For this, a study will be carried out in which young students, aged 18 to 29 years, of both sexes, who agree to participate in the study and have signed an informed consent form will participate. Will be used for data collection, 3 self-administered questionnaires, one Sociodemographic questionnaire and two of the instruments used to assess general and specific psychopathological aspects of eating disorders: Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26), which aims to screen individuals susceptible to the development of anorexia and bulimia nervosa and the Body Shape Questionnaire – BSQ, used to assess information related to body image. Given the lack of work on risk behaviors for eating disorders in adolescents and young people in São Tomé and Príncipe and taking into account that when unidentified risk behaviors can have consequences for public health, this work intends to assess the prevalence of risk behaviors for Eating Disorders (ED) in young people from Sao Tome and Principe.
