SUMMARY:

The COVID-19 pandemic, due to its systemic aspect, profoundly affected human lives in the
most diverse cultures and societies. From public health, politics, economics, interpersonal
relations and even international relations, all these and other diverse areas of human life were
impacted by this pandemic. This project aims to carry out a bioecological analysis of families
in social vulnerability, during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the city of Mesquita/RJ. The
research will be carried out in families assisted by PROJETO RECRIANDO, which serves
children and teenagers at the Associação Vida Plena de Mesquita (AVPM). PROJETO
RECRIANDO works with families in the Rocha Sobrinho region, an area of extreme social
vulnerability. In order to understand the family configurations of these families, we will rely
on theoretical foundations to understand the concept of social vulnerability and public policies
for vulnerable families. We will use the family systems theory, the bioecological theory of
Urie Bronfenbrenner and the theory of parenting styles for this understanding. It will be a
qualitative research, with an integrative literature review and field research through
Ecological Insertion. For this, we will analyze five families, AVPM users, through a parenting
styles questionnaire, semi-structured interviews and six meetings with Focus Groups on issues
involved with the theme of this research.
